Lenovo to launch Android powered Lepad by year end
Lenovo is all set to launch Android powered Lepad at the end of 2010. The to-be-launched tablet will echo Lephone, an Android-based smartphone in functions like e-mail and web browse, said Liu Jun, senior vice president for Lenovo Group and president for Lenovo Product Group.
The company has taken tablet PC as a crucial part of its mobile Internet strategy for an expansion in the 3G era, according to Mr. Liu, declining to say when the long-brewed Skylight and IdeaPad U1 will come into the market.
Bullish on the prospect of the Chinese mobile Internet market, Lenovo Group is about to come up with a series of new products following the debut of Lephone, disclosed Yang Yuanqing, chief executive officer for the Hong Kong-listed company.
