It seems to be Android week on AT&T, which released two of the most awaited Android phones Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Dell Streak.
Dell Streak is finally available for $299.99 with new two-year AT&T contract+, and $549.99 without from August 12. While the U.S. priority pre-sale registrants will be first to get their hands on the device, rest will get it a day later. Streak will be available at Dell.com/mobile.

Motorola to launch Android based TV tablet with Verizon

Tablet wars are surely heating up. The Financial Times has reported that Motorola is tying up with Verizon Wireless to develop a digital tablet.

The tablet reportedly will have the following characteristics:–
- 10-inch screen
- Front and back cameras
- Will run Android
- Support Adobe Flash
- Thinner and lighter than iPad

Sanjay Jha, the C0 CEO of the company, hinted about the tablet coming into the market without giving away much detail. “We’re very focused on participating in this convergence between mobility and home, and I actually think you will see some products from us in a very short period of time.”

Indian Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal on Thursday launched a $35 Android tablet, it will be made available to students right from primary schools to universities.
The discussions are underway with global manufacturers to start mass production of arguably the world’s cheapest tablet.
According to the details,the tablet will come in three versions of 5, 7, and 9 inches display. It will be packed with 2 GB RAM memory, wi-fi connectivity, USB port and powered by a 2-watt system to suit poor power supply areas. It will laso have apps like internet browser, PDF reader, video conferencing facilities, open office, sci-lab, media player, remote device management capability, multimedia input-output interface option, and multiple content viewer.

olive pad Olive launches OlivePad VT100 Android tablet in IndiaWell Indian market will be soon filled with home made Android tablets. After the Infibeam’s Phi Tablet, Olive also launched an Android tablet yesterday in India.
OlivePad VT100 7-inch slate is said to boast an 800 x 480 resolution on a capacitive touchpanel, not to mention Bluetooth, WiFi, an SD card slot, 512MB of internal memory (plus 512MB ROM), a 3.5mm audio jack, 3 megapixel camera, mini USB socket and a 3,240mAh battery.

LG to launch Android tablet in Q4

Nobody wants to be left behind in tablet wars. LG is also one of those companies, it today announced plans for its Android tablet due in Q4 this year.
There are no details currently on the device, but LG wants to counter Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, so expect some good specs.

German Co 1&1 launches Android tablet

German web hosting company 1&1 has launched an Android based tablet. It will be given free to its new subscribers, while the existing ones must purchase it. Nothing fancy about this device, normal specs with 7-inch resistive touchscreen, 500MHz ARM11 processor with 256MB RAM/1GB ROM. It is powered by Android 1.6, but is expected to be updated to Android 2.2 in September this year.

Being a tablet device, it can not access Android Market, so the company has put in its own app store, which currently has over 100 titles.

5" Android tablet spotted in wild; priced at $88

Another Android tablet has been spotted, this 5 inch tablet from Acorp runs on Android 1.6. There is another 7 inch version in pipeline. It comes with 600MHz Rockchip ARM9 processor, micrsSD slot, 3.5mm jack and Wi-Fi, and a resistive touchscreen with stylus. Not a very cool device, but certainly a cheap one at $88. Have you been waiting eagerly for this Dell Tablet cum smartphone, here is the final piece of puzzle. Dell Streak would be selling for free, if you buy it with a O2 £25 mobile broadband contract or a £35 voice and unlimited data contract.

The Dell Streak Tablet arrives at The Carphone Warehouse

The Carphone Warehouse is today announcing that it will be the exclusive independent retailer of the Dell Streak Tablet at launch in the UK from June 4 2010. Available on O2, the Android-based tablet offers power and portability to enable people to watch, surf, connect, listen and play on the move.

The Dell Streak leverages Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon mobile processor to combine the functionality, performance, and benefits of a laptop in a pocket-friendly size. The spacious 5-inch screen is ideal when browsing the internet, enabling users to view web pages as they were intended. Plus, the Streak will be able to support future internet plug-ins, such as Flash 10.1 and video chat applications through over-the-air updates.

There’s built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, enabling easy access to download music, update social networking status’ in real-time, and stay connected to friends and family through e-mail, text, IM, and voice calls.
