Telstra has started selling Samsung’s cheapest Android smartphone Galaxy 5 for $199 in Australia from today.Available on Pre-Paid, Samsung Galaxy 5 joins Huawei U8300 to be among the cheapest Android devices currently retailing ‘down under’.

Samsung launches Android 2.2 powered Galaxy K in Korea
Samsung launched Galaxy K in Korea with KT today. This smartphone launch coincides with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 announcement today.
Samsung Galaxy K comes with a Android 2.2, 3.7” AMOLED screen, a 1GHz CPU, Adobe Flash, Wi-Fi, 3G Tethering, T-DMB TV, 512MB of RAM, a 5Mpix Camera module, A-GPS, FM Radio, MicroSDHC and 8GB of internal memory.

Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 update hitting India in Oct end
After Spain, it seems the Android 2.2 update has delayed in India too. According to Samsung Mobile India’s Twitter account, update will reach India in Oct end only.

Seems like Samsung has shifted the entire update schedule for October only. The reason for delay is still unknown, reported Samsunghub.

An upcoming Android slider was spotted at the Vodafone booth in ongoing IFA trade fair. Named as I5500, this mid-range device runs Android 2.2 OS, will cost around 200 euros and features a 5MP camera, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, UMTS, microSD card slot.
No details on the availability right now, but expect to hear more soon.

Samsung has announced that it will be launching its Android based tablet, which is known by the name of Galaxy Tab till now, in this quarter, reported Reuters. This quarter means expect a launch before 30 Sep, which is in line with earlier anticipated launch before October.
