Huawei launches IDEOS in Kenya
The cheapest Android 2.2 phone, Huawei IDEOS, has been launched in the Kenyan market. Priced at Sh 8000, the Huwaei smart phone is the expected the use of Internet among the 20 million Kenyan consumers of mobile phone services.
The IDEOS is the latest in a string of devices the Chinese firm has rolled out aiming to capture a share of the growing consumer internet market
To remind you more about the smartphone, it will run Android 2.2 [Froyo], feature a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen, 528MHz processor, 3.2MP camera, brightness, proximity and accelerometer sensors built in, and MicroSD storage.

Sony Ericsson enters Kenya; launches Xperia series of Android phones
Sony Ericsson has announced its entry into the Kenya. With the entry, Sony Ericsson launched Xperia X10, Xperia X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro smart phones in the market.
Company has appointed Krishna International to be its distributor in the region while mobile operator Safaricom will serve as its retailer.
Sony Ericsson General Manager for Central Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa Jorgen Berg said the company aims to capitalise on the mobile phone boom in the country as well as introduce internet-enabled phones that will enhance internet penetration.
