Cellular South to launch Samsung Galaxy S in fall
That makes it six. With the inclusion of Cellular South, there are now a total of six telecom operators launching their own variants of Samsung Galaxy S smartphone.
Not much is known about the Cellular South Galaxy S, apart from the fact that it will come with 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird Application Processor, 4 inch Super AMOLED screen, 5 MP camera and Android 2.1. Cellular South will be launching the device in the Fall with other regional operator US Cellular.

Verizon launches Samsung Fascinate

First few pics of the upcoming handset have been leaked. The handset is expected to be launched on the network on July 23. This version of Galaxy S is same as the European and Asian versions. It features a 4 inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, 1GHz processor, Android 2.1, 5MP camera, and HD video recording.

Samsung today launched the Android powered Galaxy S smartphone in India. This the third Android phone launched by the company in the country. Other two models are Galaxy and Galaxy Spica. Galaxy S is one of the most advanced and powerful smartphone today available worldwide.
This feature filled smartphone comes with Android 2.1 on-board. It has the Touchwiz 3.0 UI. Talking about the specifications, it comes with a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen, 5MP camera capable of shooting 720p video, 1GHz processor, 8GB or 16GB storage (with microSD support too) and a 3.5mm headphone socket. Galaxy S is priced at Rs. 31,000. Other two Galaxy models in India are currently retailing at 12,500 INR and Rs 14,000 INR. Today’s announcement makes a total of 12 Android phones in India.

Samsung to launch Galaxy S in South Korea
Samsung said Tuesday that it will start selling its Galaxy S smart phones in South Korea from the end of this month. The phone will be offered through South Korea’s largest mobile carrier SK Telecom.
The launch of the device in South Korea is part of an overall global push into the fast growing smart phone market–last week, the Galaxy S made its debut in Europe.

Samsung is making a big move this time and a very rare one. Samsung will be launching Galaxy S, its next big Android smartphone simultaneously in 110 countries.
As far as I can remember, this would be for the first time in telecom history. Galaxy S is surely the device worthy of buying, but will Samsung’s move pay off.

Samsung on Tuesday unveiled a new smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S running on Android OS.
The head of the company’s mobile phone business JK Shin told the audience in his keynote speech at the CTIA annual wireless trade show that the device would be available in the US later this year.
He said the Galaxy S would include an advanced screen technology called Super AMOLED that promises a display that is 20 percent brighter than existing phones and ideal for showing video on cellphones.
Shin also said Samsung is partnering with top media companies to bring full-length movies, television shows and electronic books to Samsung smartphones by direct download. Samsung said it would announce partners at a later date.
