Breaking: Google Phone tag on Nexus One for US only? (Update)

“HTC to market Nexus One elsewhere”
nexus+one 01 Breaking: Google Phone tag on Nexus One for US only? (Update)
As we await Jan 5, as the tentative Google Phone launch date, we are hearing Google Phone tag for Nexus One might be for United States release only or Europe also. But, HTC is said to be launching the phone in other markets like Asia.
IT168.com, a popular Chinese website is reporting that HTC is likely to be involved in the sales of  Google Phone aka Nexus One in markets other than US, with even its brand name on it.
Does that sound like, HTC Bravo coming to Asia with Sense 2.0, (that would even kill Nexus One [:P], who would not want Nexus One with HTC Sense).
HTC Bravo Breaking: Google Phone tag on Nexus One for US only? (Update)Well, I think, As Google does not have that strong offline support in Asia, and its online sale strategy might not bear the fruits, so it made HTC, the boss for elsewhere to promote the phone. As, HTC has a dependable distribution network in these countries, the idea works.
Lets wait and watch.
Update:  Alibaba China is also reporting that Nexus One might be called HTC Bravo outside United States. As we have already seen the Bravo listed in the HTC’s 2010 1st Half roadmap. which I thought was Europe specific. So, till now, we have Nexus One coming to US & HTC Bravo coming to Asia, Europe & Elsewhere.

Nexus One is a sure Droid Killer but iPhone killer?

Nexus One is a sure Droid Killer but iPhone killer?

Well after the TNKGRL’s brief review of Google Phone aka Nexus One, now it is the turn of Gizmodo’s Jason to get us hands on report. In his assessment, He has termed Nexus One a sure Droid killer but has not given his verdict on whether its an iPhone killer or not.

We are posting some of important tidbits from the Gizmodo post:

  • The Nexus One is slightly thinner than the iPhone 3GS, and slightly lighter.
  • It feels long and silky and natural in your hand—even more so than the iPhone 3GS.
  • Even though the screen is the same size and same resolution as the Droid, it’s noticeably better. The colors are much more vibrant and the blacks are blacker, as evidenced by putting both side by side and hitting up various websites and loading various games. This is probably the best screen we’ve seen on a smartphone so far. Probably.
  • Nexus One is astonishingly faster than the Droid. The speed dominance was most evident when we compared the loading of webpage
  • When comparing the three phones in loading a webpage over Wi-Fi, the Nexus One loaded first, the iPhone 3GS came in a few seconds later, and the Droid came in a little while after that.
  • The 5-megapixel camera is nice, and the flash works well enough for a flash on a phone, but it’s not spectacular
  • There’s no multitouch in the browser or in the map
