Telstra has announced that it will be the first telecom operator in Australia to sell the Android 4.0 smartphone Galaxy Nexus from tomorrow. This much awaited ICS smartphone will be available for purchase from company’s flagship stores in Sydney and Melbourne including the recently unveiled Androidland.

Apple stores watch out, first Android store is here. Unveiled today by Australian telecom operator Telstra in partnership with Google and handset manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and LG, this store (or sub-store) is called Androidland.
Androidland is basically a special Android-themed zone in Telstra’s flagship store at Bourke Street in Melbourne. Spread on 154 square meter space, Androidland features interactive demonstrations, on-site experts, games, product displays and a lot of other fun stuff. Read the rest of this entry »
Optus launches Dell Streak 7, Acer Iconia Tab A501 in Australia
Australian telecom operator Optus has announced two new Honeycomb tablets in the country. Both the tablets Acer Iconia Tab A501 and Dell Streak 7 tablets are available starting today.
Running on Android 3.2, these tablets come with NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor inside. “The versatility of both the Dell Streak 7 and Acer Iconia really signify how influential tablets have become in our digital lives. We’re excited to range these two excellent devices in the lead up to Christmas to maximise the choice for customers looking to treat themselves or others.”

Motorola slashes Xoom price in Australia, RAZR now available

Motorola has reduced the price of Xoom sharply in Australia to get some buyers in Christmas shopping season. Consumers can now grab the Xoom Wi-Fi for $399 at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Costco stores. In other news, Motorola has also started selling RAZR starting yesterday in the country via Optus.

Sony has announced that it will start selling its Honeycomb Tablet S in Australia from tomorrow i.e. October 25. The 16GB WiFi only version of the tablet has been priced at A$579 while the 32GB version will sell for A$689.
Motorola RAZR UK, Australia and Canada launch details emerge

Regional telecom operators have released the availability details in UK, Australia and Canada. Starting first with Australia, Optus will be exclusively carrying the RAZR in the country. Motorola just sent out invitations for a Sydney press event scheduled for October 27. Octus logo is clearly visible in the invite also with the original RAZR Invitation line “Join us to celebrate the next big innovation from Motorola Mobility.” We expect to hear more on the actual availability at this event.
