Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 7.0 does its dance for the FCC
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 has passed through the FCC and should be released in the UK later this month, according to Engadget. While the tablet has not been officially announced by any US carriers, the device is said to pack radios compatible with AT&T’s 3G service, so it could end up on American soil sooner or later as well.

Sony has announced the launch of Xperia sola Android smartphone today. It will be available across the globe in the second quarter of this year. According to the company, it features all new “floating touch” technology, which allows consumers to browse the web by hovering their finger above the screen so it acts like a moving curser, without actually having to touch the display.

Instagram’s Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger were on-hand at SXSW yesterday and teased the crowd with a quick look at the long-awaited Instagram app for Android. The two were very excited with the application, touting it as “one of the most amazing Android apps you’ll ever see,” and even went on to say, ”in some ways, it’s better than our iPhone app.”

Android leads the pack in comScore’s latest report
ComScore, the digital research firm, has just published its latest report on the US smartphone market share and Android has the largest pie with 48.6% market share, up 2.3%. This data has been obtained for the three month period- ending January. This comes as no surprise and shows that Android is still on the growth curve.

Samsung has announced another budget Android smartphone Galaxy Pocket today. It will join Galaxy Y and other entry-level models in its Galaxy portfolio. Galaxy Pocket would be available in Italy starting from March, and will be gradually rolled out to Europe, CIS, Latin America, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Middle East, Africa, and China.
