According to the latest Android platform figures from Google, Android 2.2 ‘FroYo’ is now on over 65% of the total Android devices, while Android 2.1 aka Éclair is still present on 25% of the phones.

Google has announced that Nexus S will soon get the Video Chat support in Google Talk via the Android 2.3.4 update. The update will be rolled out to all Nexus S phones in the coming weeks. Company also announced that rest of the Android 2.3+ devices will get the update in future.

Sprint has confirmed the availability details for Google Nexus S 4G. Nexus S 4G will go on sale this Sunday [May 8] for $199.99 (plus tax) with two-year service agreement.
Video calling for Android coming at Google I/O
It seems Google is ready with the official video calling solution for Android. Coming in the Android 2.3.4 update, video calling is expected to be part of Gmail/Google Talk.
According to a tweet from Samsung developer, who got the chance to use video calling on Nexus S tweeted about this with io2011 hash tag hinting towards a Google I/O launch.

T-Mobile today confirmed the upcoming Android 2.3 update for LG G2x. Telecom operator insisted that it won’t take long for the update, which seems normal as the device comes with stock Android version.
Samsung Galaxy Tab to get Gingerbread update soon; Honeycomb?
There is good news for Samsung Galaxy Tab users. Vodafone Australia has tweeted that it has received the Gingerbread test builds for Samsung Galaxy Tab, which makes it clear that we will soon get to see Android 2.3 update elsewhere too.
We expect that unlocked units will be first to get the Gingerbread update, so India might not be far behind in that department. There is no word about the goodies in the Gingerbread update for Galaxy Tab.
But after the upcoming Gingerbread update, Samsung Galaxy Tab will have to be very lucky to get Honeycomb otherwise company would have been working directly on Android 3.0 rather than wasting time on Android 2.3.
