Motorola Dext seems nearing its time on Bell, so this Canadian telecom operator has reduced the price to $149.99 without any commitment.
Not a great device to have considering you will get Android 1.5, but at this price, I might have it for my playtime.

Dell Streak price goes down to $400; is the second version coming?
It seems to be the price cut season. Dell has reduced the price of its Android tablet to $400 in US, but it will start shipping on January 10, 2011.
And don’t expect it running on Android 2.2, you will have to do the update yourself. Not a pain I say at this price.
The reason for this kindness from Dell seems the possible launch of next Android tablet from Dell at CES. Well, we are keeping our fingers crossed for that.
Sony Ericsson LiveView software update coming in Jan
Sony Ericsson has been listening to all the issues and criticism about its add-on micro display LiveView which goes with Android smartphones.
To solve all the pending problems, company will be pushing a software update in January via SE update service. But considering Sony Ericsson’s pains with Android updates, keep your fingers crossed else it might also slip to Feb/march.

Nexus S starts shipping in UK
Google Nexus S today started shipping in UK. UK is the second country to get the Google phone after US. Nexus S has been priced at 429 Pounds.
By the way, Carphone Warehouse, which is exclusively stocking the phone, is refunding the buyers who pre-ordered the phone at the earlier price of 549 Pounds.

In the latest change to their updates schedule, Motorola today posted that Quench XT3 will remain on Android 1.6 [In fact, it comes pre-loaded with Android 2.1 in India, so I think Motorola meant "2.1"] , while Quench XT5 which was launched recently will also not receive any updates and will stick to current Android 2.1.

Archos’ Android powered e-book reader 70b is now available on pre-order in France. It has been priced at €99 ($131) with expected shipping sometime in between end of December and before January 7 2011.
LG Optimus 2X Europe launch in Jan 2011
LG has officially announced that it will be launching its first dual core Android smartphone in Europe next month. LG has also partnered with composer Ennio Morricone for exclusive music and ringtones.

Google wins Android trademark lawsuit
Google and OHA have finally won the long legal battle for the Android trademark. The presiding judge dismissed the case and cancelled the original Android Data trademark, on the basis of which Erich Specht had sued Google.
Specht had a company named Android Data, which received trademark in 2002. Company reportedly fell apart later, leaving the company dissolved and the trademark effectively abandoned. When Google has OHA started Android OS, Specht sued them.
Leaked HTC phone pops up everywhere
It seems one HTC Android phone has been leaked all over the blogosphere to create hype. The blogs, who received the images of device in question, are Engadget, Slashgear, Gizmodo, Crunchgear, and Android Central.
Everyone suddenly is pointing fingers towards HTC, for these marketing tactics, while I do not think this practice is limited to any one company. Across the manufactures, devices have been leaked like anything, and I do not think that these were just coincidences, but planned leaks to create possible hype before the launch.
