Sony Xperia ZR might not be released in UK, France and Germany
Reports are coming in from Europe that Sony’s just announced rugged Xperia ZR might not be released in countries like UK, France and Germany. When Sony unveiled Xperia ZR yesterday, it was not specific about the regional launch details, which is normal, as the companies tend to leave this part to the regional arms.
Although the UK and Germany offices of Sony are yet to officially issue any statement about the Xperia ZR availability, Sony France has taken to Twitter to reveal that Xperia ZR will not be released in France.

B&N reduces Nook tablet, e-reader prices in UK
Barnes & Noble has announced that it is reducing the prices of its entire line of e-readers and tablets in the UK market. The company adds that these prices are valid for a limited period, but did not mention any exact dates.
Nook Tablets, which run on a custom version of Android, will now be available at the following prices at major retailers like Argos, ASDA, Blackwell’s, Foyles, Currys and PC World, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and Very, and NOOK.co.uk.

HP Slate 7 UK launch details confirmed, available beginning May 1
HP has put its Android-powered Slate 7 tablet on pre-order in the UK. The tablet can be ordered from the company’s official UK online store for £129 (incl VAT). According to the listing, the tablet will begin shipping on May 1.
HP Slate 7 was originally showcased at the Mobile World Congress and comes with a 7-inch display. The tablet runs on Android 4.1 and is powered by 1.6GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor. Other features of the tablet include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage and microSD card slot.

Asus Fonepad UK pre-orders to begin on April 12 for £180
Asus has finally announced the availability and pricing details of its new Fonepad Android tablet in UK. The company will start taking pre-orders for this Android tablet with voice-calling support on April 12 for £179.99.
According to Asus, the Fonepad will be sold at UK retailers like Carphone Warehouse, Sainsburys and Amazon. The actual shipping of the tablet will start on April 26 in the country.

HTC First to be sold via EE, Orange too, contract-free US pricing revealed
HTC along with Facebook unveiled its first phone to come with Facebook’s newly announced ‘Home’ user interface later yesterday. It is dubbed as HTC First, we have already talked in detail about it in our announcement report, but lot more information has appeared since, so here is a round-up of where else we can expect to see HTC First, apart from AT&T and what will be its off-contract pricing in the United States.
The HTC First will be sold exclusively sold by EE in the UK, while Orange will be offering it in France. There is no word on exact pricing or availability dates till now about both the country, but if you want, you can register you interest at the telecom operators’ Facebook pages.

SIM-free Samsung Galaxy S 4 goes on pre-order at Expansys UK for hefty 589 pounds
Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 smartphone is now available for pre-order on UK retailer Expansys with a hefty price-tag of GBP 589 (INR 48,600 approx.). This pricing is way more than other flagship models like HTC One (GBP 519) and Sony Xperia Z (GBP 529).
There is no word on when the retailer will start shipping the model, but we can expect to see it around late-April, the time-line noted by Samsung in the announcement press release and also recently noted in a Bloomberg report. Samsung had revealed that it will begin shipping Galaxy S 4 in select countries including UK, US and Germany at the end of April, with other markets getting it in early-May.

Acer Liquid E1, Sony Xperia Tablet Z UK pricing revealed
UK Prices of two Android devices have been revealed in the last 24 hours. These devices are Acer’s Liquid E1 smartphone and Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z.
Talking about Acer Liquid E1 first, as per a listing on Expansys, the smartphone will cost £174.99 ($265, €206) in UK. The smartphone features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 4.5 inch qHD IPS display, VGA front camera, 5MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM, 1GHz dual-core processor, 4GB of internal memory, and MicroSD card slot.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 will go on sale in US, UK & Korea by April-end
Samsung has revealed that it will be releasing the Galaxy S 4 smartphone initially in three countries by the end of April, followed by broader release in 150 countries by early-May. This further cements our earlier report about early-May India launch of Galaxy S 4.
“Samsung will first sell the phone initially in three countries by end- April and reach 155 nations by early May,” Chenny Kim, Samsung spokeswoman told Bloomberg. She also noted that the phone will be manufactured in factories at South Korea, Vietnam and China.

Amazon brings Kindle Fire HD 8.9 to more countries, reduces price in US
Amazon has announced that it is releasing its Kindle Fire HD 8.9 tablet in more countries across the globe. The tablet will now be sold in UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan. The company also revealed that it is reducing the price of the tablet in the United States. Amazon Kindle Fire HD will now be sold starting $269 in the country.
“As we expand Kindle Fire HD 8.9” to Europe and Japan, we’ve been able to increase our production volumes and decrease our costs. Across our business at Amazon, whenever we are able to create cost efficiencies like this, we want to pass the savings along to our customers,” said Dave Limp, Vice President, Amazon Kindle.
