Out of the blue, Samsung has decided to release almost a year-old Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi in India today. It is now selling on Letsbuy and listed as coming soon on Flipkart for INR 19,990. To remind you, it is the Wi-Fi version of original seven inch Galaxy Tab that went on sale in the country on November 10, 2010.
1.4 million consumers order Aakash tablet in just two weeks
It has been pretty good last two weeks for Aakash tablet maker Datawind. According to a report in Economic Times, Datawind CEO has stated that 14 lakh consumers have shown their interest in buying Aakash in just two weeks of putting it on sale online.
Struggling to meet demand, company has now planned to establish three new factories – in Cochin, Noida and Hyderabad – in the first half of 2012 to assemble this ultra-cheap tablet. Currently, Aakash is assembled at a single factory in Hyderabad.

Asus Transformer Prime getting software update
Asus is pushing out a minor software update for Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Dubbed as version 8.8.3.33, this update is said to be bringing speed boost, reduce the time-lag when launching the camera app, better GPS lock and touchscreen smoothness.

Asus’s upcoming Android tablet leaked, launching at CES
It seems Asus isn’t going to lose out on all the action at CES, just because it has already launched its flagship Honeycomb tablet. A press shot of company’s upcoming Android tablet has leaked online.
Rumor has it that we will see it getting launched at CES this month. There is no word on the exact name of this tablet. Currently, there are two contenders – one, it might be called Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime Mini and it would launch with a mini keyboard dock. Details are shy on the specs front.

Sony has reduced the price of Tablet S in the United States today. This price-cut follows the recent limited time $50 relaxation in the Tablet S price on December 15. Now, US users will be able to buy the 16GB Wi-Fi only edition of Sony’s Honeycomb tablet for $399.99, while the 32GB version will be sold for $499.99.

A benchmark listing on AnTuTu’s website has revealed an upcoming Toshiba Android tablet that might be powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core processor. Listing is under the name of “Tostab06”, which is in-line with the naming trend followed by other Toshiba tablets.
