Dell Venue gets rooted; Instructions available
Dell Venue might not be available anywhere in the world apart from Korea and India, but that did not stop developers to root it. The current root process is quite easy and should not take more than 5 minutes once you have everything ready.

Motorola Milestone gets stable CyanogenMod port
Motorola Milestone yesterday got the stable build of CyanogenMod. While the original CyanogenMod does not support Milestone, but other devs have ported to this Droid cousin.

HTC Evo 4G gets Meizu M9 ROM
Well, Android developers are one vibrant community. Days after the release of so called Android powered Chinese iPhone clone – Meizu M9, XxDaLoWeSt1xX over MiUi devs has ported the Meizu ROM on HTC Evo 4G.
Meizu M9 runs on a customized Android 2.2, with a pretty decent UI, I expect that to be the reason for porting.

Meego ported to Nexus S

First Android 2.3 alpha build for Samsung Galaxy Spica has arrived. Leshak over Samdroid.net has released the build. A lot of features including GSM are still not working, but if you want to have a look at Gingerbread UI, you can install it.
How to Root LG Optimus One & remove unwanted apps
Rooting LG Optimus One is very simple, you just need one application and you will get the root access. The good part is you can use the same application to un-root the phone in case you want too.
You can root the Optimus One to remove all the crap applications that come-preloaded on your Optimus One or to use apps which require root access. After you have removed the applications, you can un-root and bingo, you are back to all good unrooted Optimus One without all the crap apps.

Gingerbread on Nexus One; source code available in AOSP
Well, as soon as the Android 2.3 source was pushed to AOSP, devs started porting to other devices. Nexus One is the lucky one to get it first and the Gingerbread is ready to be installed without Google Apps and camera support.
