UK telecom operator Orange has finally started selling San Francisco II on Pay as You Go as well as contract based plans. This successor of original San Francisco aka ZTE Blaze comes with similar features along with the OS upgrade.
Samsung Galaxy XCover coming to UK next month
Remember the rugged Samsung Android smartphone Galaxy XCover, it is back in news. Officially announced back in August, XCover will be available in UK next month as Samsung Galaxy Extreme, Samsung confirmed to SoMobile.
According to a product listing on Handtec, it will be priced at £224.39 (about €260 or $351) for the sim-free version. Competing with Motorola Defy+ in the rugged Android smartphone space, Galaxy Extreme features Gingerbread, 3.65 inch HVGA Gorilla Glass display, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.2MP autofocus camera with LED flash, 800MHz processor, and microSD card slot.

It is not every day that we hear such stories. Apparently the first customer who bought Galaxy Nexus in UK today was greeted by a test ROM on his brand new phone. This was not all, this test ROM was filled with dev tools and some of the usual options were missing (not unexpected), along with a “Report a WTF condition” under bad behavior debugging functions.

Samsung has officially announced that Galaxy Nexus will be available in UK starting November 17. This is the first official confirmation coming from any country about Galaxy Nexus availability.
Motorola Xoom 2, Xoom 2 Media Edition priced in UK
Motorola’s official press release about Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition launch did not mention the pricing details, but folks over Recombu have got it directly from horse’s mouth at the launch event.
According to the publication, Xoom 2 will be sold for £379.99 (INR 30K), while Xoom 2 Media Edition will be priced at £329.99 (INR 26K). It might not be the greatest pricing, but Motorola seems to have learnt something from its Xoom pricing debacle.
Announced later yesterday, Xoom 2 and Media Edition will be available in UK and Ireland in mid-November, i.e. sometime around next to next week. There is still no word on international launch.
