Lenovo K900 goes on sale in China this week, other markets to follow

Almost a month after it was scheduled to launch, Lenovo K900 smartphone is finally going on sale in China this week. The company today sent out a press release informing that its first Intel Clover Trail+ smartphone is out in China and will be released in select international markets this summer. The company has not given a clear release schedule for other markets but as we have been seeing reports of India launch for a long time, may be it is heading to Indian shores soon.Lenovo K900

LG holding a press event on May 30, China launch of Optimus G Pro?

LG is sending invites to the tech media for a press event in Macau on May 30. As you can see in the invite image below, the company plans to launch an Optimus G-series smartphone.LG Invite

If the phone side-view shown in the invite is any indication (it looks exactly like Optimus G Pro side) we are going to see the China launch of LG’s Optimus G Pro smartphone.  Several tech blogs are speculating the Optimus G2 announcement, which is highly unlikely as G2 is rumoured to pack Snapdragon 800 processor but the chips haven’t still gone in mass production. Now, why would LG want to announce a smartphone that is months away from actual release.

HTC One dual-SIM version announced in China with microSD card support

HTC has officially announced the China variants of its HTC One smartphone. The Company has released three versions each for one telecom operator in the country – 802 W for China Unicom, 802D for China Telecom and 802T for China Mobile.HTC One China

While the key features of HTC One China variants remain same as international version, China version also packs dual-SIM card support, microSD card slot and a removable back cover to access these slots. The battery on the HTC One variants still remains sealed.

Lenovo’s Intel Clover Trail+ powered K900 launching in May

We finally have a release date for Lenovo and world’s first Intel Clover Trail+ powered dual-core K900 Android smartphone. The phone will go on sale first in the Chinese market on May 6 and will be followed by a release in Philippines in June. There is no word on the pricing in either of the countries.Lenovo K900

Delayed by almost a month, Lenovo K900 was first showcased at Consumer Electronics Show this year. The phone comes with a 6.9 mm thick stainless steel alloy plus polycarbonate body and runs on Android 4.2.

HTC allows buyers to customise HTC E1 in China

We all have heard the rumours about Motorola’s plans to allow consumers to customise the X Phone; well HTC has already started doing that in China. The company is letting the buyers to customise HTC E1 before buying from its eShop in the country.HTC E1

The buyers can either choose between 8GB or 16GB as built-in storage, 5MP or 8MP as the rear camera and among the six body colours as well as patterns. This is not all; HTC is also throwing a bonus red colour interior for the ones that buy the E1 with the best available features.

China will have 300 million Android users by end-of-year [Infographic]

China, which is already a 224 million users big Android market, is on course to reach 300 million Android smartphone users by the end of 2013, claims Chinese third-party app store Wandoujia in a neat infographic. Lenovo announces S920 with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Lenovo’s new Android smartphone S920 is official. The phone has already appeared on company’s China web-store but is yet to go on sale. Packing a 5.3-inch 720p HD display, the phone falls in the phablet category.Lenovo-S920

HTC E1 launched; packs 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, Android 4.1

HTC has launched a mid-range Android smartphone ‘E1’ in the Chinese market. The smartphone, which carries the model number 603e will soon go on sale in the country with a price-tag of 1,799 yuan ($290).HTC-E1

HTC E features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, HTC Sense 4+, 4.3-inch WVGA Super LCD 2 display, and 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The smartphone also comes with 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, dual-SIM connectivity, 5MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera.

Intel Clover Trail+ powered Lenovo K900 available starting April 17

Lenovo has revealed that it will begin selling its first Intel Clover Trail+ platform powered K900 smartphone in China beginning April 17. There is no word on the official pricing, but unofficial estimates suggest that the phone will be priced in the range of 2,999 yuan ($483, INR 26,221).

Lenovo K990 is the only smartphone that we official know comes with Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ processor.  There is anticipation that XOLO will introduce a Clover Trail+ powered smartphone on March 14, but that is yet to be official confirmed.lenovo_k900

K990 features 2GHz dual-core processor, 5.5-inch 1080p display, 13MP rear camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and Android 4.2. All these features come in just 6.9 mm thin stainless steel alloy plus polycarbonate body. The smartphone will be offered in multiple colours including Copper, Silver, and Grey. If the rumoured pricing is correct, these are some impressive specs for the given price.
