HTC to bring Sense 5.0 & Blinkfeed to Butterfly via software update
HTC North Asia chief Jack Tong has revealed that his company plans to push a software update to HTC Butterfly by May-end to bring the new Sense 5.0 interface. This might not be unexpected but it is the first official confirmation about the update from this Taiwanese manufacturer.
To remind you, HTC Sense 5.0 was first introduced with the company’s HTC One smartphone and it brings several features like Blinkfeed and HTC Zoe. Tong has confirmed that both Blinkfeed and Zoe will be coming to Butterfly, but we will not see features like Sense TV, which are hardware dependent.

Google updates Play Books & YouTube for Google TV apps
Google has released application updates for Play Books and Youtube for Google TV in Google Play today. These updates bring several new features to both the apps.
Talking about Google Play Books first, this is a major update for the app. With this update, Play Books now adds support for reading users’ own EPUB, or PDF files, which was earlier missing. The company has also refreshed the design to put it in sync with other Google applications.

‘Android updates’ are an area of focus for me, says new Android boss Sundar Pichai
In the first major interview since taking the place of Andy Rubin, Google executive Sundar Pichai has told Wired that making Android update process better is an area of focus for him and Android team.
“We are thinking about how to make Android handle updates better. We see ways we can do this. It’s early days. We’re talking with our partners and working our way through it,” said Pichai.

Asus FonePad gets 3.1.16 software update
Asus has started rolling out a new software update for its Fonepad tablets. The update, which mainly brings system improvements and bug fixes, is currently available for WW, TW and JP SKUs.
If you are not sure about the SKU of your tablet – Go to: [Settings] -> [About tablet] -> Build number. You should be able to see the build number WW_epad-9.X.X.X._2012xxxx, where “WW” means SKU.

Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 gets Android 4.1 update
Samsung India has started rolling out Jelly Bean update to Galaxy Chat owners in the country. The update is now available both over-the-air as well as via Samsung Kies software. The update is 322 MB in size, and is being released in phases.
As soon as the update is ready for your device, you will get notification on your phone to download and install it. You can also check for the update manually by going to Settings << About Phone << Software Update << Update.

Samsung Galaxy S4 getting software update
Samsung India has started rolling out the first software update for the Galaxy S4 smartphone in the country. Now available over-the-air, this update mainly brings stability improvements to the device. In other words, Samsung is just removing odd glitches, which might have been discovered after the device release or very close to the release and fixes of them were not included in the pre-loaded software.
Update details: New software build number id JDQ39.I9500XXUAMDK, Size is 54MB.
Samsung Galaxy S4 had gone on sale in the country beginning April 28 and it has just been a few days. There is no word on whether a similar update is being released in other regions too. The Indian version of Galaxy S4 packs Eyxnos 5 Octa inside, which isn’t really available in most of the markets apart from South Korea, so chances are that update is just meant for Exynos versions.
To remind you, Samsung Galaxy S4 is being sold for INR 41,500 in the country and can be bought from almost any major retail store in the country.
Verizon Galaxy Note 2 getting Android 4.1.2 update
Verizon has started rolling out a software update for Galaxy Note II users in the United States. The update is now available over-the-air (OTA). 246MB in size, this update brings many new features including support of multi-window in more apps.
The Android version is also getting bumped to Android 4.1.2 with this update.

Samsung Galaxy S Advance Android 4.1 update now available
Samsung India has finally started rolling out Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S Advance smartphone in India. The update is now available via Kies app on PC and Mac, the OTA roll-out should begin in a few days.
Similar to all Samsung software updates, it is also being released in batches, so not everyone will get it right-away, but it should reach your device in the matter of days.
