HTC One Developer Edition announced for $649

HTC has just announced the developer edition of its flagship smartphone ‘HTC One’ in the United States. The phone will come with both SIM and bootloader unlocked. According to the Taiwanese manufacturer, the phone will go on sale alongside HTC One retail edition in the country.HTC One_Silver_Left

HTC One Dev edition comes with 64GB of internal storage instead of minimum 32GB storage in retail unit (16GB in Taiwan).  Rest of the specifications of the dev edition are same as the retail unit, here is a look:

Samsung to release upgraded Galaxy S III; better display, 2400 mAH battery in tow

Everyone might be waiting for Galaxy S IV, but reports are coming in suggesting that Samsung is also going to announce an upgraded version of Galaxy S III. There is no word on when this version will be released, but it might take some time to reach stores.samsung-galaxy-s3-jelly-bean

According to Russian insider Eldar Murtazin, the upgraded Samsung Galaxy S III will come with a better display, wireless charging support and 2,400 mAh battery.  We are not sure what does he mean by a better screen, may be with full HD resolution, but that seems unlikely.

Sony might announce Xperia L, SP on March 18

Reports are coming in from Russia, which suggest that the Japanese manufacturer might announce the much leaked Xperia L and Xperia SP smartphones next week. Company has scheduled a press event in the country and MobiTelefon.ru believes that Sony will announce Xperia L and SP at this event.Sony-Xperia-logo

There is no way to confirm, which phones is Sony going to showcase at the event, but unless Sony plans to announce a local launch of some product, the Xperia L and SP launch seems likely. However, we would not put our money on that just now.

Samsung Galaxy Y Plus spotted on Samsung India website, launch imminent?

An unannounced Android smartphone has been spotted on Samsung India website today. Dubbed as Galaxy Y Plus GT-S5303, the smartphone runs on Android 4.0 and seems to be the successor of company’s quite popular budget phones Galaxy Y and Galaxy Pocket. There is no word on the pricing of Samsung Galaxy Y Plus, but it is likely to be priced around INR 6-7,000.

XOLO’s upcoming phone will not have Intel Clover Trail+

Turns out we were wrong, reports are coming in suggesting that XOLO’s upcoming launch does not feature Intel Clover Trail+ platform, as earlier anticipated. The phone will run on older Intel Medfield processor.xolo-intel

Some new information has also emerged from XOLO’s teaser on its Facebook page, which suggest the phone will come with 4.7-inch 720p HD 2.5D curved glass display with 312PPI,  and unibody design. The 2.5D curved glass was last seen in LG’s Optimus G Pro smartphone.

Samsung GT-I9502 images appear online, a Samsung Galaxy S IV variant? (Update)

Update: A video of the leaked GT-I9502 has appeared online. Check it out below.

Earlier: Pictures of Samsung GT-I9502 smartphone have appeared online. Posted on a Chinese forum, these images show a smartphone, which looks a lot like Galaxy Note II. The person, who has posted these images, claims these are of a Samsung Galaxy S IV’s dual-SIM variant headed to China Unicom.

Xperia Z sales encouraging for Sony, as HTC struggles with One shipments

Initial Xperia Z booking reports are positive for Sony. Reports indicate that the units available of Sony Xperia Z in select initial countries were all booked on the very first day.xperia-z-black-1240x840

Volumes of the 5-inch Full HD Xperia allocated for sale in Japan, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Taiwan were all fully booked on the first day when distributors began to take pre-sale orders in the markets.

New rumour reveals Sony Xperia L specs

We have been hearing for a while now that Sony is working on several new smartphones that will be replacing company’s existing mid-range portfolio of Xperia P, U and sola. One of these upcoming smartphones is Xperia L. Now, a reliable source has revealed the full Xperia L specs to Xperiablog.net.Sony-Xperia-logo

According to the blog, Xperia L will come with a 4.3-inch FWVGA display, 8MP rear camera with Exmor RS sensor, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 1700 mAh battery and Android 4.1.2.  The phone will not have capacitive touch buttons but on-screen virtual buttons like Nexus 4 or Galaxy Nexus.

Samsung gives us a real glimpse at Galaxy S IV in the latest teaser

All Samsung Galaxy S IV teasers have been pointless with no peek at the actual phone until now. The Korean manufacturer earlier today posted an image teaser on its social media channels, which gives us the first real look at the actual Galaxy S IV hardware.
