Android 4.0 powered Micromax Funbook lands in India

Micromax has announced company’s first Android tablet today in the country. Dubbed as Funbook, it has been priced at INR 6,499 and will come with Android 4.0 on-board. This is the second Ice Cream Sandwich tablet to be announced in the country in last 48 hours.

Micromax Funbook features 7-inch capacitive display with 800x480p resolution, 1.2GHz processor,  512MB RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. Company is also bundling Tata Photon data card, which can be used via USB port on the tablet for connectivity.

Company is also targeting students with this tablet and have pre-loaded e-learning app on the tablet, which will come with content from various publishers including Pearson, Scholarshub etc.

    If this device is suitable with gprs, it would be sure hit. But unfortunately its not.

    how do i install the andriod device via usb. it fails to install the drivers on windows 7 home premium. is there a disc for drivers with it. please help me find the right drivers. thanks

    Aha… Looks like the search for my portable usb router has found something interesting here… with a few added bonus features of course ;)

    Can someone confirm on the usb interface this hardware is providing… and what sort of inbuilt dialer is being given.. hard or soft? And is wifi hotspot from the data card directly available out of the box or I’ll need to make some mods?
