Marking its entrance in flooded tablet market, ZTE yesterday released Android powered “Light” at P&T/Expo Comm China 2010.
ZTE Light features a 7-inch touchscreen, weights 403 grams and supports wireless mobile service using the GSM family of standards, including WCDMA.
“We are watching the convergence of tablet computer and Internet application. Light is the result,” said He Shiyou, ZTE’s vice president. “It’s a device with special design and more portable compared with the iPad.”
ZTE has declined to reveal the price of the new device, which will be announced on a later date. Company also said that it had already received many orders for the model abroad, though it declined to provide any names.
