Apple sues HTC for patent infringement

Apple said on Tuesday it filed a lawsuit against HTC saying that the phone maker infringed on 20 Apple patents related to the iPhone’s user interface and hardware.

Apple, which popularized touchscreen phones when it launched iPhone in 2007, said it filed the suit at the same time with the U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. District Court in Delaware.

HTC makes touchscreen phones, many of which are based on Android operating system.
