Android Market is offering free client-end downloads of Alibaba’s online payment tool Alipay and allows payment via Alipay in it, ccidnet.com reported January 19.
A separate report by Nanfang Daily said January 19 that Tencent’s online payment tool Tenpay is in talks with handset manufacturers, including Apple and Chinese three telecom operators — China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom — to develop a mobile payment platform.
Previous stories said Google was planning to release a Chinese language version of its Android Market in mainland China at the beginning of 2010.
