Communications software company Aricent today announced the launch of its specialised services for the Android platform with a view to help its customers develop equipments based on the mobile operating system.
“We will provide consultancy and services to OEMs, chipset vendors and operators for accelerating the development cycle, improve performance and enhance the overall consumer experience of the Android-based mobile devices and consumer electronics,” Aricent business development vice-president for mobile multimedia and value added services Sajal Gupta told reporters here.
Asked how he expects Android handsets to do in the country, Gupta said, “a lot would depend on the pricing and the applications developed. Android as a platform is expected to help handset-makers bring down cost, something that will help them here.”
